TOPIC: REFORM YOUR WAYS TEXT: JEREMIAH 7 : 1 - 8 To reform means changing something that is defective, broken, inefficient or otherwise negative in order to correct or improve it. Today, we hear people talking about reforming Nigeria because they feel that things are not working properly. One hallmark of reformation is change, especially regarding policies, programmes or things that are defective or inefficient. Today's passage is a cry for reformation coming from God Himself to men/women who go to religious houses, prayer houses or churches but their ways and actions are not in tandem with their association with God. They wrongly think that going to temples, religious houses and churches will save them from sin, death and oppression. God told the Israelites to change their evil ways of oppressing of the poor and killing innocent people and pursue justice and stop following other gods for them to experience the blessings and peace of God.
Are you fond of oppressing the poor, perverting justice, shedding innocent blood, etc? PRAYER
Lord Almighty, forgive us in Nigeria for perverting justice, killing innocent people, oppressing the poor and strangers and help us to change our ways, in Christ's name, Amen.
