TOPIC: LIVING FOR GOD TEXT: 2 KINGS 18: 1 - 18 God wants His children to positively represent Him wherever they find themselves and under all circumstances. As the light and salt of the world, He wants them to make a statement by maintaining their identity, even when everyone thinks otherwise. Hezekiah, the King of Judah, is contrasted with Hoseah, the King of Israel, who did evil in the sight of the Lord. Hezekiah came to the throne and brought about a great revival as he followed the path of his father, David (vs. 3). He destroyed all the things that contaminated the land and hindered the people from genuine worship, and developed a strong trust in the Lord by instituting godly practices. This is a challenge to us to bring the respect of God into our homes, businesses, classes, offices and everywhere we find ourselves so as to affect generation for His glory.
Do you portray attitudes that are in keeping with the desire of the Lord wherever you find yourself? PRAYER
Help me, dear Lord, to always resist everything that sets itself against Your precepts, in Jesus name, Amen.
