TOPIC: DON'T GIVE UP
TEXT: 2 KINGS 2 : 1 - 14
Elijah was a great man who served God faithfully and had the privilege of performing several miracles. Although he was loved by many, there were still others who hated him, including kings.
Any Christian who decides to live faithfully and truthfully and serve honesty will surely not find it easy with leaders and members who choose to compromise. He prepared Elisha through coaching and mentoring.
Elisha saw his master live the godly life in keeping with what he was taught.
This is what we call "walk the talk!" Elisha had a noble desire of inheriting a double portion of the spirit of Elijah!
Although Elisha said that, that was a difficult preposition, Elisha could receive it if he followed diligently and patiently and waited on his master.
Three times Elijah tested Elisha by requesting the young man to wait for him while he proceeded further. Three times Elisha demonstrated his dogged commitment to never give up.
He waited and remained focused and sober until he saw Elijah taken up by the heavily charioteers. Everyone who God calls must undergo a period of training after which you receive your empowerment.
Why has God called you but you are already discouraged and cannot wait in faith for Him to lead you in the path already designed?
Lead me on through the thick fog and give me eyes of faith to wait on You so that I may never miss what You have prepared for me, in Jesus name, Amen.
