TOPIC: PURE GOSPEL MESSAGE IS EMPOWERED BY GOD. TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 1 : 26 - 2 : 5 In today's reading, we understand that preaching the gospel in a clear and simple way has the power to transform the lives of the listeners. It has the potential of redeeming the vilest offender; making armed robbers become great evangelists; and saving hardened criminals, immoral men and women and using them to preform amazing feats for the glory of the Kingdom (remember the Samaritan woman in John 4). Paul was himself a typical example and testified to this in 1Timothy 1:15. He persecuted the Church and the rest of the story is known to many. Preaching the gospel of Christ does not require big grammar but simple words backed up by the Holy Spirit. God's power is manifested to save and regenerate. This was Paul's emphasis in chapter 2:4 and 5 where he said, "My speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power." Some prominent men of God, such as John Wesley, Rowland Bingham, Billy Graham and Evangelist Moses Ariye kept their messages pure and simple but fully packed with amazing power which brought many to salvation. You may read widely and use several aids to understand the Word but always keep the message simple and let the Holy Spirit do the rest.

QUESTION As a believer, do you doubt the fact that God's power backs the pure and simple gospel? PRAYER Let Your power be made manifest to save and transform lives through the simple gospel messages I preach in this challenging world, Amen.
