ECWA FOOD FOR THE DAY - Saturday 3rd October, 2020

TOPIC: WE ARE REDEEMED AND CHOSEN

TEXT: EPHESIANS 1: 7 – 14

Our redemption in Christ is a huge task which involves sacrificing one's life for mankind which the scriptures qualifies as “the riches of God's grace” (verse 7). This sacrifice includes wisdom and understanding which is beyond human comprehension. This is because God purposed this sacrifice in Christ in the fullness of time. The sacrifice led to the choice of the Jews even before the universe came to be. He worked out all things in conformity with the purpose of His will (v11). The Jews were the first fruit to hope in Christ because they were foretold in the Old Testament through their prophets about the coming of the Messiah, v12. The church, like the Ephesians, is given the opportunity to receive salvation through faith in Christ. The church is included in Christ's redemption through hearing and believing the gospel. The two things that stand out in Christianity are the ability to hear the gospel and believe in Jesus.

QUESTION

Are you sure you are redeemed and chosen in Christ?

PRAYER

Father, You reminded me about how my redemption came at the expense of your life. Please remind me about the role of the Holy Spirit in me today to live for You, Amen.
