TOPIC: GOD'S FINAL JUDGEMENT. TEXT: REVELATION 15:1-8 The great and marvellous sign that John saw was actually God's grand and final judgement upon the earth. God had inflicted judgement many times before. There were His judgements on the tower of Babel, on the world through a universal flood, on Sodom and Gomorrah, on Jerusalem in AD79 and on Israel for nearly two thousand years. The seven angels with the seven last plaques will unleash God's final judgement on mankind who were loyal to the Anti-Christ. The sea of glass glowing with fire which John saw symbolized the tribulation saints. In revelation, the sea of glass usually represents a tamed and stilled multitude of saints. The fire may refer to the trials by fire endured by the tribulation saints who were martyred by the beast during the tribulation because of their personal faith in Christ. It is consoling to know that even death is victory for Christians. People living during the tribulation will think that the Anti-Christ is overcoming the saints but in reality he will be sending them out into eternity to be with the Lord - Hallelujah. Jesus encourages us not to fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.
Are you afraid of death and persecution? PRAYER
Dear Lord, help me to endure persecution knowing that at the end I will sing joyfully, in Jesus name, Amen.
