TOPIC: A HYMN OF PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING TEXT: PSALM 100 : 1 - 5 There must be reasons for the Holy Spirit to be leading us in the past three or four days to praise and thank God for who He is. Today, the Psalmist tells us to make a joyful noise unto the Lord and serve Him, irrespective of our situation. GOD is worthy to be praised because He is our God and our Shepherd, we are the sheep of His pasture and vs. 1 - 3 affirms this as the basis for our jubilation. As dependent animals, sheep need the shepherd for protection and guidance onto good pasture water.
Knowing God as our Shepherd gives us the assurance of security and the daily supply of our needs. Therefore, we can come before His throne of grace singing not only songs of joy but also songs of praise (vs. 2 - 4). As we go out today with the full assurance of His goodness and presence with us, hymns of praise and thanksgiving should fill out hearts.
How often do you sing hymns of praise and thanksgiving unto God because of the assurance of His presence with you? PRAYER
Let songs of praise and thanksgiving issue out of my heart unto You this day, dear Lord, Amen.
