TOPIC: THE IMPORTANCE OF THE ARK
TEXT: 1 KINGS 8:1-11
As magnificent as the temple of the Lord which King Solomon built was, it would have made no positive impact on the people and the land if the Lord was not housed in it. The ark of the Lord signified the presence of God. The temple became a great blessing to Israel because the people came and met with God and experienced His presence therein. The highest form of manifestation of God's presence in the life of a believer, family or Church is in form of His glory. Therefore, on the day of dedication of the temple, God manifested His presence in the form of a cloud of glory. Often, when God's glory is manifested among His people, something always dies - the flesh! Thus, the priests could no longer minister when God s presence was manifested in glory! God no longer live in a physical temple built of stones, He lives in all of those who have opened their hearts and asked Him, the King of Glory to come and dwell therein. We believers in Christ are now the temple of God the Holy Spirit (1Corinthians 6:19, 1Corinthians 3:16-17).
Christ in us is the hope of glory!
Is the glory of the Lord's presence manifested in your life?
Oh God, let the glory of Your presence be manifested in my life so that every sin of the flesh would die, in Jesus name Amen.
