TOPIC: IMITATING THE CHARACTER OF CHRIST: HUMILITY

TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 2:1-11

Humility is seen as a modest view of one's own importance. A humble person does not regard himself above his real self and does not regard himself below his true person. Some people think that to be humble is to discount their self-worth. That is wrong! Christ did not take advantage of His deity to pontificate. Instead, He took the form of a man a servant. He was humble to the point of being willing to die on a cross Because of the humility He expressed in the kind of death God exalted Him. This is something a believer should imitate. Unfortunately, humility is something many believers only talk about but do not practice. It is common to hear people refer to themselves as "my humble self, "my humble home" and so on-but in truth, humble people do not know that they are humble! When humble people begin to recognize their humility, whether inwardly or outwardly, then pride has set in. Is Christ in you? Then let it be seen and known through your humility.

QUESTION

Do you imitate Christ's humility?

PRAYER

Lord, grant me the grace to be humble, in Jesus name, Amen.
