TOPIC: INTERCEDING FOR OTHERS AND OUR LAND TEXT: NEHEMIAH 1:1-11 The Lord expects us to develop a burden in our hearts for our brethren and the nation we are privilege to live in. The spiritual and physical conditions of the people we live with should always be a matter of concern to us wherever we find ourselves. Nehemiah is an example of a man who had a strong concern for his people and homeland, even when he was living in conditions that seemed better than what obtained in his native land. The news of the state of his people and country became a strong burden in his heart that he had to petition the Lord about it. He interceded for the forgiveness of the people’s and his own sins even when he was not in the land. He identified with his people in every aspect of their lives because he wanted God to bring the needed transformation. We should learn from Nehemiah by interceding for our churches, communities and even our nation for God’s visitation.
How do you feel about the conditions of people around you? PRAYER
Heavenly Father, please give me the heart to develop a burden for situations around me so that I can call upon You for intervention, in Jesus name, Amen.
