TOPIC: HEZEKIAH'S LEADERSHIP IS TESTED
TEXT: 2 KINGS 18:28-37
As a leader, have you ever found yourself in the kind of situation Hezekiah found himself? King Sennacherib resorted to intimidation, blackmail and further threats. He used their present circumstances and compared it with his so-called military might along with the various victories he had secured across different people groups.
To him, this was a sign that the God of Israel cannot be any different. In other words, King Sennacherib may actually be saying that if he could defeat all these nations in spite of their gods, his gods were most powerful against any other in the entire region.
It was an attempt to cast fear and doubts in the minds of the people of Judah and set them against King Hezekiah who at the moment appeared to be helpless against the mighty Assyrian war machine.
As a leader, moments such as these are meant to test your commitment to provide leadership and direction for you to lead.
How did you respond when you found yourself in the same situation with King Sennacherib?
