TOPIC: WALKING THE PATH TO GLORY (1)
TEXT: EXODUS 33: 1-3
One of the most exciting moments in the Olympics is the medal award ceremony during which the three athletes who emerge tops in a given event are decorated with goal, silver
and bronze medals respectively. The national anthem of the country of the gold medalist is played while he/she stands on the elevated award podium in the eyes of the whole world! At such moments of glory, which for many happens once in their lifetime, tears are shed profusely. The dialogue between God and Moses in today's text envisages glory through a
promised land; it is a land of abundance -flowing with milk and honey! God recounts this promised glory through the patriarchs. He further assures Moses that an angel would be sent to drive out opposition. All seem nice and beautiful, except that God Himself would not accompany the people! Why? Because of sin! 'They are a stiff-necked people. Some would
say, don't really think it matters if God goes with us or not. If He gives us land, good life and security from our enemies, what else do we need? Not many people care about the accompanying presence of God on their path to glory as long as they can have a good life! But walking in glory 1s walking in the presence God. where is God in your scheme of things? Where is He in your dream of a better glorious life?
Remember, no God, no glory! Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Where is God in your plan to attain glory in 2021?
You are my glory, and nothing else, O Lord! Keep me focused on this, in Jesus name, Amen.
