ECWA FOOD FOR THE DAY - Wednesday 3rd March, 2021

TEXT: ACTS 28:23-31

Paul followed the Jews and gave them top priority in his presentation of the gospel for their salvation. This was his method throughout his missionary journeys. Paul was in Rome because his Jewish brethren wanted to kill him on account of the message of salvation he preached. However, here he was, barely three days after arriving in Rome, summoning the Jews with the same message of salvation! Paul never gave up even when he knew through the Old Testament prophecy of Isaiah 6:9, 10 that his people will reject the message. God spoke clearly to the Jewish nation through the Pentateuch and the Old Testament prophets, but they still refused to hear, let alone accept salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. It is dangerous to pile head knowledge on the Word of God without faith. It easily becomes spiritually toxic and leads to serious unbelief. We see this playing out even today in the lives of churchgoers across denominations. Perhaps this explains why morality is on a downward spiral. But, like Paul, we must never give up.

What have you done with the gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ as a believer or an unbeliever?

Dear Lord Jesus, I pray that You open the eyes and hearts of those to whom we present your gospel of salvation so that they will accept it, in Jesus name, Amen.
