TOPIC: GOD'S MYSTERY REVEALED FOR FREEDOM AND CONFIDENCE
TEXT: EPHESIANS 3: 1 – 13
Understanding God's mystery comes from reading the Word. Through that, a servant of God uncovers what is not revealed to people of the past. But the Holy Spirit chose to do that using His prophets and apostles. The mystery is that, through this gospel (the good news), we will share an inheritance with the Israelites, (v6). In Christ, we are members of one body taking part in God's promises. Paul sees his inadequacy in this privilege if not for God's grace (v8). This is because the grace paves the way and reaches out to the Gentiles with the bountiful riches of Christ through His mystery. The process, right from the start was for you and I (the church) to reveal to rulers and authorities the eternal purpose accomplished in Christ. That in faith we can approach God freely and confidently (vs. 10-12). It is from this perspective that we see our suffering as a glorious project for which we should not give up.
How are you experiencing your freedom and confidence as a Christian?
Dear Father, I confess today that I have not been maximizing the freedom and the confidence I have as a member of Your family. Give me the boldness to reach out to somebody today, Amen.
